The library was created by sound designer Adam Pietruszko, who specializes in the visual and sonic documentation of derelict buildings; the project’s goal is to capture the essence and spirit of these forbidden locations. The entire process—from initial planning and preparation to the final recording—spanned a full year. The recording sites were selected with meticulous care, drawing inspiration from countless photographs, blueprints, and historical records concerning these abandoned sites.
The mood of forsaken factories, warehouses, and industrial complexes is brought to life through a blend of analog and digital synthesis, combined with field recordings captured on-site. These sounds have undergone specialized processing and transformation to evoke a sense of unsettling mystery, immersing you in an atmosphere of exploration.
The sounds in this library offer a glimpse into the "afterlife" of these seemingly silent, dead structures. Beneath layers of debris, rust, and peeling paint lies another dimension.
